About Dockrig
Dockrig is a set of spec cards for knots and rigs: what to use, how long, how thick, how many turns, then stop.
Who writes here
Who writes here. Cal Brannock is the pen name our editors use on Dockrig. Cal isn't a guide or a pro angler, and we don't claim days on the water we didn't spend. Pages are drafted with AI assistance. An editor checks each step against the knot or rig source we cite, and every length, count and diameter is rerun through the calculators on our methodology page. We don't publish knot-strength percentages. Found a mistake? Email contact@dockrig.com.
What you'll find here
Each knot page opens with a card: what the knot joins, which lines it suits and what to have on hand. Then come the steps, one drawing per step. Rig pages list the hook, the weight, the leader and the knot that ties it together.
We leave out fish stories, tournament talk and regulation advice. For limits and seasons, your state agency has the final word.
